“Zombie Jesus has risen from the Dead!”
That’s what I heard on a TV show after Easter. To say I was shocked would be too easy. Even my wife said that it was so wrong and it was. I can understand that not all people believe as I do. People believe in different gods and things and that is their right.
It never ceases to surprise me that they pick on Jesus when they need a joke. Or take His name in vain during a comedy skit. Not sure why. You don’t see them taking Buddha’s name or Vishnu’s name in vain. But it seems that Jesus is fair game. Even television shows are now doing it. Taking the Lord’s name in vain. It doesn’t seem to bother them at all.
People say that Christianity is just too easy. Believe in a God that loves you and sent His son to die for mankind. To give over control to an unseen God and believe without seeing. We must be daft. But it is not as easy as it sounds. Your brain says no and your heart says yes. The two are in constant battle for dominion.
For so long believing in Jesus was considered a disease. You were considered psychotic cause how could you believe in such a thing. But through the decades those people who said those very same things met up with the One that they said was not real and found out He was.
Christians are made fun of. They are treated like crap. They get spit on and beheaded. In some countries, they have been forced underground and meet secretly in houses or basements. Worshiping Jesus is against the law in some countries. I don’t understand why.
Jesus Christ, the King Of Kings, Lord of Lords. Fairest of Ten Thousand. The Mighty God, Glorious Warrior. Born of a virgin, in a manger meant for a beast of burden. He rose to become the greatest teacher ever known and taught that God was a God of love. He sacrificed himself. Chose the day, time and place of His death. He had the right to say no. He didn’t have to die. He could have left us to burn in hell.
Jesus said (Matthew 10:16-21)
“16“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. 17“But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; 18and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19“But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. 20“For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
21“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.”
People will hate you because of Jesus’ name. As Christians, we carry his name. We willingly came to Jesus and took Him as our own. We are His and He is ours. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.
Does that make it any easier to be a follower of Jesus. Nope. It doesn’t. But knowing that there are others out there that believe the same as you do is very comforting. Knowing that you can go to almost any country and find someone of a like mind and soul is so rewarding.
People laugh at you and talk about behind your back. They point fingers and giggle. They say it’s just to easy to be a Christian. My response!
“If it’s so easy being a Christian..then why aren’t you one!”
