His Story!

Life Stalled…

See Manual!

What manual am I talking about you might ask. Well the only manual that you need to get through this life! The book that you need so much in your life. Well the Bible of course! It is after all His Story!

The Bible is such an amazing book. It is filled with stories of strength, love, grace, power and so much more. Swashbuckling, salvation, death, life, judgement! Let’s not forget the people. The broken and morally bankrupt people that God used every day to show His love for mankind!

The people that were flawed. We are all flawed and yet God uses us everyday. We are sinful people and yet God can use us to reveal His glory! Remember He even uses people that don’t believe in Him to reveal His Glory!

The Bible is His Story and His people! The people that He chose to be His people. The people that He created to start this Human Race! We can all trace our lineage back to Adam and Eve! Believe it or not!!

From Adam to Jesus, the lineage is unbroken but also has many branches. Just to name a few…here we go! (This is not an exhaustive list in any way).

Abraham…The Father Of Many              Isaac…(Son Of Abraham) Laughter

Jacob…(Son of Isaac) Supplanter            Judah…(Son Of Jacob) Let him (God) be praised

Jesse…(Son of Obed) Yahweh Exists      David…(Son of Jesse) Well Beloved

Solomon…(Son of David) Peace              Hezekiah…(Son Of Ahaz) Yahweh Strengthens

Manassah…(Son of Hezekiah) Making To Forget      Josiah…(Son of Amon) Yahweh Heals

Shealtiel…(Son of Jeconiah) I Have Asked God      Rahab…(A Prositute) Violence

That is but a small sample of the lineage of Christ. He was born to a sinner and yet he was sinless. He was and still is the only son of the living God! So what does that mean? What sense does it mean? Well let me it explain it thusly.

The bible is His Story. A letter of love from up above. You see the Bible is more than just His Story it is also Our Story! When we take Jesus as our own, we are adopted into the family of God and become one of His children. Romans 8:15 . We have a new standing before him. We can call Him “Abba Father!” We become family with all those that came before us and it is a very big family. Starting all the back to Adam and all the way forward to those take Christ today!

Now what does this all mean to what I have been talking about, well let’s take a peek.

The spirit of adoption – The feeling of affection, love, and confidence which pertains to children; not the servile, trembling spirit of slaves, but the temper and affectionate regard of sons. Adoption is the taking and treating a stranger as one’s own child. It is applied to Christians because God treats them as his children; he receives them into this relation, though they were by nature strangers and enemies. It implies,

(1) That we by nature had no claim on him;

(2) That therefore, the act is one of mere kindness – of pure, sovereign love;

(3) That we are now under his protection and care; and,

(4) That we are bound to manifest toward him the spirit of children, and yield to him obedience. See the note at John 1:12; compare Galatians 4:5; Ephesians 1:5. It is for this that Christians are so often called the sons of God.

Whereby we cry – As children who need protection and help. This evinces the habitual spirit of a child of God; a disposition,

(1) To express toward him the feelings due to a father;

(2) To call upon him; to address him in the language of affection and endearing confidence;

(3) To seek his protection and aid.(*++)

Our God is a loving God. He is a caring God. He runs to the hurt and suffering. He doesn’t sit around and wait for them to come to Him. He gets off his duff and runs to us. Think on the Prodigal Son, a parable about the love and patience of God and the Forgiveness of sins. God is a forgiving God. When we ask for forgiveness, he takes that sin and tosses it as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more! Why cause he is forgetful dude, no because he chooses to!

So what does this have to do with this hill of beans I call a blog. If you are a Christian then His Story is part of Your Story.  You are called Sons Of God. He adopted you into the His family and all because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Take Jesus as your own and receive him into your heart and because of this, You will run with Giants and I mean Giants.

Giants like Moses, Abraham. Samson, Noah, Matthew, John, Peter and so many more. Those giants of God that are so much your family as much as mine. The were normal frail people that were used but God to continue His Story. They were flawed and yet the were awesome. I guess you could call them Flawsome! Continue your story and His! Spread the Gospel to all who will listen! Worship the One Who Is King Of The Universe! Jesus Christ…He is the biggest Giant of all!!

Hello!

Jesus Loves You!

He died for you. He did it willingly. He could have told us to go fly a kite and go live his life but that was not his mission. His mission was to save mankind. He was born to die! He could have walked away and said no but he did the will of the father!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have ever lasting life.”

John 14:6 “I am the Way, The Truth, The Life. No man comes to the Father but by me!”

Romans 3:21-26 “21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith ina]”>[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,b]”>[b] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”

I am going to be brutally honest. All those religions out there are all fine and good but they won’t get you to the Father. They can’t guarantee you anything. Someone said to me that “Allah” was the way. I asked him, what has Allah done for me.He had to think for a minute. I said to him that Jesus did what no other God in this world has done.  He died for me. He let himself be put to death so that I might be saved and washed in his blood and love. Through His death, he opened the way to the Father.

Matthew 27:46 – 54

46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[a] lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[b]

47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”

50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[c] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

We no longer have to be afraid to seek the face of God. We can seek God’s face without worry or fear.  We can look upon God and not be afraid of anything!

The joy of Salvation goes beyond the death of Jesus. His resurrection is so wonderful. He defeated death. He showed that when we die if we are in Christ, we will go the be with the Father.

Isaiah speaks about the death of Christ. It is a prophesy that came true. Everything that happens in the chapter happened to Jesus.

Isaiah 53

The Suffering Servant

Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For He grew up before Him like a tender [a]shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should [b]be attracted to Him.
He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of [c]sorrows and acquainted with [d]grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Surely our [e]griefs He Himself bore,
And our [f]sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
[g]Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was [h]pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our [i]well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To [j]fall on Him.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off out of the land of the [k]living
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

10 But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, [l]putting Him to grief;
If [m]He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His [n]offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the [o]good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
11 As a result of the [p]anguish of His soul,
He will see [q]it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,
And He will divide the booty with the strong;
Because He poured out [r]Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.

I could go into more detail and make this letter longer and longer. What I am trying to say is that Jesus loves you and if you give him the chance you will find your life changed for the better. You will be filled with the spirit and have the biggest family of all behind you. There might even be someone there that you work with that is a believer!

I can’t make you take Jesus. That would be shoving Jesus down your throat and that is not what Jesus did. He said what needed to be said then stepped back and let them decide. You have free will. God gave it to you for a reason. He didn’t want robots to worship him. He wanted us to come to him willingly.

I took Jesus as my own 43 years ago and have walked with Him ever since. It’s not been easy and being laughed at is not a treat. It use to be that being a Christian was considered a disease that needed to be treated like dementia and it’s not. The joy of being a Christian is it is not a religion but rather a relationship with the One True Living God. A God that cares so much that all you have to do is reach out and He will be there.

“I have reached out to God and nothing happened.” I hear it and I usually say. “Are you sure. Did someone say God bless you today or Jesus Loves You.” God does not always appear as we might think. He comes to us through people that might pop their head in and quote a scripture or sing a song. Usually at the time you need him the most. A person looks at you when you are at your lowest and whispers “Jesus Loves You.” Don’t let those times escape. Grab onto them and ask that question I know you want to ask. “Who is Jesus!”

I leave you Jesus. Yours to take or not. I will continue to pray for you and that you come to Jesus in time.

John 20:26-29

26 [a]After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been [b]shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then He *said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus *said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Jesus Is!

Who is Jesus, well there are many names for Him! The Bible is full of them. You can’t swing a cat without reading one.

1Cor 15:45-47

45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

Paul writes that Jesus is the second Adam. Without sin and perfect. Adam was originally perfect in every way. Had he done what he was suppose to do, he would have stayed perfect but alas he did not.

Jesus on the other hand was perfect. He was born perfect for he was not just a mortal man. He is God made flesh!

Allies, the Christian band, calls Jesus “The Last Chance Cafe.” For He is the last chance.

“NO man comes before the Father but by me!” John 14:6

Rev 21:6

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “[a]It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.”

Jesus is the First and the Last.

White Heart calls Jesus “The Beat Of A Different Drum”

Rock And Roll Worship Circus calls Jesus “The Undiscovered”

Carman calls Jesus “The Champion”

C.S. Lewis calls him “Aslan”

So many names of the Loving Saviour!

John calls Him the Advocate (1 John 2:1) He also calls Him the Word (John 1:1). Matthew calls Him, Beloved of God (Matthew 12:18). Mark called Him, Good Teacher (Mark 10:17). Luke calls Him, Consolation of Israel (Luke 2:25)

He is throughout all of the Old Testament. Daniel calls Him, “Ancient of Days “(Dan 7:9), David calls Him so many names. “King of Glory” (Psalms 24:7), “Chief Cornerstone”(Psalms118:22), “Most Mighty” (Psalms 45:3).

Jeremiah

“Branch Of Righteousness” (Jer 33:15)

Isaiah

“Wonderful Counselor (is 9:6), Mighty God (Is 9:6), Eternal Father (Is 9:6), Prince Of Peace (Is. 9:6), Mighty One Of Jacob (Is 60:16), Man of Sorrows (Is 53:3)”

These are but a few. Look them up and get the read along points if you have them in your Bible.

Jesus has so many names that are not biblical but still so important. One person I know calls Jesus “The Love Of My Life”. Whatever you call him be it “First Love” (1 John 4: 19) to “Love of a Lifetime” or maybe the simple “Saviour”.

The names we give to the Saviour of the world is up to us. They can be biblical or not. We show our love and respect for Him when we do so. If people look at you funny, smile and whisper “Jesus is Groovy Man!”

“To God be the Glory, for in His love for us, He sent HIS Son to die for all mankind.”

Carman said it best!
